Fun Weekend - Not so Fun Monday

We had a great, lazy weekend at home. It's been cold and rainy (sometimes warm and rainy) so we have been spending a lot of time playing in the playroom. On Sunday, Mom took Tessa to see her FIRST movie at a movie theater. They saw Happy Feet 2. Tessa loved it and behaved for Omi. Unfortunately either the only thing she remembers or wants to talk about is a Penguin named Atticus (she remembers that because one of Aunt Kirsten's dog is named Atticus) and Atticus has poop on his head. THAT'S IT! She wont talk about anything else from the movie! Mike and I got to spend some Quality time with the Moose. He had his cars ALL to himself and was perfectly content. He did ask for Tessa when he woke up from his nap.

We had dinner at my parents house Sunday night. We have committed to alternating Sundays and having Sunday Night Family Dinners. It's been great so far and I get to experiment with new Recipes. Ellis then spent the night at my parents house so that we could get ready for Tessa's big day.

On Monday, Tessa had to have a second set of tubes put in her ears and they also removed her adenoids. She was in a great mood, although she didn't really like the Hospital gown and wanted to take it off. She charmed all of the Doctor's and Nurses. When it was time to take her back, they let her ride in a wagon and gave her a squirt gun to shoot the nurses with. She laughed the whole way and never looked back, which was good because I cried. They said she was entertaining everyone in the OR and told everyone she had five (her favorite number) brothers and sisters. She let them put the mask on that put her to sleep. Once she was asleep they put the IV in her and performed the surgery. I was anxious while we waited and finally (30 mins later) the doctor came and said everything went great. We had to wait for her to wake up before we were allowed to go to the recovery room for her. Understandably, she was pretty upset and crying. I just laid on the bed holding her and she finally calmed down. She didn't like the IV in her hand, but it had to stay in for 45min after her surgery, while they monitored her.

She was fine and back to normal after her nap that afternoon. It was the perfect recovery day.....cold and rainy. Mom made some soup, Tessa and I took a nice long nap together in my bed and then we made cupcakes. While we were cooking she kept saying "This is so much fun. This is my favorite. I love you so much, Mommy". She just melts my heart sometimes. I really don't think she remembers too much about the surgery part, as she doesn't talk about it at all. She still talks about the damn flu shot she had to get back in October, though.

I love my little bug!
